Protein hydroxylation catalyzed by 2-oxoglutarate oxygenases is an important post-translational modification (PTM) and it plays an essential role in the oxygen sensing and structure stabilizing1.Although the biological significance of protein hydroxylation is highly appreciated, its study is inherently difficult because the modification is relatively small (~16 Da) and no methods are available to specific enrichment of hydroxylated proteins or peptides.
