Graphene does not posses a bandgap and has a very low emission efficiency.We demonstrate bright broadband photoluminescence from graphene.The broadband emission from graphene is based on the ultrafast electron-hole pair recombination in graphene.We also show photoluminescence enhancement in the graphene.We give a model of hot carrier multiplication and hot carrier scattering in graphene.The result could help to study the population inversion and broad band lasing of graphene from visible range to THz range.
