In this study the UHMA model (University of Helsinki Multicomponent Aerosol model) is used in an attempt to better understand the processes involved in the formation and transformation of the remote marine aerosols. In particularly,we would like to test our parameterisation of the submicron emission of the primary marine sea salt aerosol, together with aerosol dynamics, gas phase chemistry,in-cloud chemistry, wet and dry deposition and below cloud scavenging. The DMS is included in the model as this gas is the naturally source for the sulphur in the marine atmosphere. The objectives are to examine if the parameterisation results in realistic aerosol size distributions when the aerosol is aged and influenced by other aerosol processes and to see how many cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) that is produced in various conditions.
