We report here a facile method to fabricate BiOCl@Bi2S3core-shell structured thin films at a smooth Bi electrode surface by two steps.BiOCl thin films were obtained first by potentiostaticanodization of smooth bismuth electrodes in NaCl solution,and then thenanosphere- and nanoplate-like BiOCl films served as precursors to prepare BiOCl@Bi2S3 core-shell structured thin films by surface sulfurization.The photoelectrochemical (PEC) properties of bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) electrodes and BiOCl@Bi2S3 core-shell structured electrodes prepared from different applied potential and polarization time have been studied.Due to the core-shell structure and large specific area,the plate-like BiOCl@Bi2S3 electrode showed good PEC performance in Na2SO3 solution.
