  Magnetic iron/carbon composites with erythrocyte-like structures were produced by carbonization of the modified starch/iron ions composites (MS-Fe) in an inert atmosphere, in which the modified starch was obtained through two chemical reactions of corn starch: crosslinking and graft copolymerization, and used to adsorb iron ions to form MS-Fe.
