Ultra-lightweighted and multi-functional truss-cored metal structure comprising of periodic truss cores and solid face sheets has emerged recently with the advanced manufacturing techniques and is regarded as the new generation of advanced light weight, high strength material.This novel structure is characterized with excellent mechanical performance such as ultra-light, high strength ratio, high stiffness ratio, and possesses multi-function such as energy absorption, damping, permeability, heat insulation, heat dispersion, oxidation resistance,electromagnetic screening.Truss-cored metal structure is expected to have potential application in astronautics, aviation, ship, automobile, high-speed train and so on.
