　　Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for maintaining the length and integrity of chromosome ends.It consists of a catalytic protein subunit human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) and a RNA component human telomerase RNA component (hTER), which acts as the template for addition of new telomeric repeats.
