objective: to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of percutaneous irreversible electroporation in ablation of local advanced stage pancreatic cancer;methods: 21 patients with local advanced pancreatic cancer received irreversible electroporation treatment during June to September 2015.The clinical characteristics, blood test results, complications and imaging study results were compared;results: all 21patients received irreversible electroporation ablation successfully.4 mild complications and one death within 90days were recorded.Serum amylase level didnt show significant change.CT scan of immediate after ablation, 1week and 1 month post-ablation showed no vessel or pancreatic duct injury. No evidence of disease progression except for the death case has been detected yet;conclusions: percutaneous irreversible electroporation has high safety in ablation of local advanced pancreatic cancer and its short-time effectiveness has also been proven. However longer follow up and more cases is needed for its long term efficacy.
