A Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin scheme for hyperbolic conservation laws with discontinuous flux

  We combine a δ-mapping algorithm with the Runge-Kutta discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) scheme for solving hyperbolic conservation laws with discontinuous fluxes.The extended scheme is applied to nonlinear elasticity in heterogeneous media and the LWR traffic flow model with inhomogeneous road conditions, and is verified to be efficient through these numerical examples.
