whiskers.The elastic constants of TiBw/Ti composites layers with reinforcement network distribution should beyond the computed results using the HT equation for randomly oriented whiskers,which should fit to the upper limit of Hashin-Shtrikman (H-S) bounds.Meanwhile,the longitudinal and transverse elastic constants of laminated Ti-TiBw/Ti composites can be predicted by series and parallel laws using lamination theory.The experimental data is fit to the overall predicted behavior of the two systems.
