The extract of cloudy lens and implantation of intraocular lens (IOL) is the only effective clinical treatment to cataracts. However,a common complication named after cataract,or posterior capsular opacification (PCO),may occur in high incidence after IOL implantation of 3 to 5 years.PCO is mainly the results of residual lens epithelial cells (LEC) adhesion, proliferation and transdifferentiation on the implant.Surface modification to reduce the initial step is of great importance to reduce the PCO occurrence[1,2].
