This work is motivated by a paper of Bourgain,Brezis and Mironescu.In this paper,the authors give a new insight onclassical Sobolev spaces.They establish new compactness results for Sobolev spaces.They prove as well that the Sobolev(semi-)norm on W1,p is a scaled limit of the Ws,p(semi-)normwhen s go to 1.
