An analytical method was established to determine clopyralid residues in soil,rapeseed and rape stem.Supervised field trails were carried out to evaluate the dissipation rates and final residues of clopyralid in oilseed rape and soil.The fortified recoveries through the method ranged from 82.84% to 109.69% with relative standard deviations lower than or equal to 9.79%.The limit of quantification for clopyralid was 0.008 mg kg-1.A two-year field study showed that the dissipation half-lives in soil and rape seedling were 8.60~10.78 days and 14.47~16.58 days, respectively.Final residues in rapeseed, soil and rape stem were far below the maximum residue limits (MRL)recommended by US EPA (3 mg kg-1).Low residues suggest that clopyralid may be eonsidered safe for field large-scale use at the recommended dose.
