Introduction:Thisstudyaimstoevaluatetheabilitytodetectivetheintestinalpolyposisbypolyethyleneglycolelectrolyte solutionwithcontrastmedium(PEG-C)fecaltaggingwithCTcolonographyinchildren. Materials and methods:13childrenofrecurrentintussusceptionorsuspiciousintestinalpolyposis,aged8m-14y.abrosia24h andtakeorallypeg-c(2ml/kg)8hoursbeforeexamination.A24FrForeycatheterwasplacedintherectum,andtheballoon wasinflatedjustbeforetheCTscan.Airwasinsufflatedintothecolonattheleftdecubitusposition.Thepatientwasscanned axiallywithasinglerunfromthecolonicflexurestothepelvisinthesupineposition.ThestudywasperformedusingPhilips256 iCT.Scanningwithareceivedscanningprotocoloflow-doseabdomenCT.Then,sendpicturestotheIntelliSpace—Virtual Colonoscopy,observetheentirecolonanddistalileumtoidentifythelocationofthelesionandthedistancetoanal. Results:Allstudieswereperformedwithoutcomplications.CTCshowedtheentirecolonanddistalileumwithoutblindspotsin allpatients.Polypswerelocatedintheileocecaljunction(n=8),colon(n=5).Allcaseswereconfirmedbycolonoscopeor minimallyinvasivesurgery.EDDoseofallpatients0.92-2.43msV. Discussion CTCisaradiologicmodalitythatisbeingevaluatedscreeningtoolforcolorectalpolyps.Therearefewreportsrelated tothetechniqueinchildren.CTCrequiresbowelpreparationandcolonicinsufflation.Inparticular,optimizingbowelpreparation isimportant.PEG-Cisprovidesacleanmucosalsurface,todistinguishtheneoformationandremainedliquid.Colonoscopy provideshighdiagnosticaccuracy,andhasbeentheroutinetherapeuticmodalityfordiagnosisandtreatmentofcolorectal elevatedlesioninchildren.However,colonoscopyisinvasiveandoftenneedssedation.OurdatashowsthatCTCcouldbecarried outsafelyinchildrenwithoutsedation.Alowdoseofradiationmaynotallowtheuseofstooltaggingbecausebariumand iodine-containingoralcontrastagentstendtoincreasenoiseandstreakartifacts.However,thecon-trastagentdilutedwithPEG solutiondidnotgeneratenoiseorartifactsinourstudy.Inconclusion,CTCusingPEG-Cprepa-rationissafeandlessinvasive comparedtoconventionalCTCduetotheshorterexaminationtimeandlowerradiationdose.
