Biomoleeule/Nanoparticle (NP) hybrid systems combine the unique electronic, optical and catalytic properties of NPs with the recognition and catalytic functions of biomaterials [1].The presentation will briefly address the use of biomolecule/NPs hybrids for the development of different sensing platforms.Examples will include the electrical wiring of redox proteins by means of Au NPs and the development of amperometric biosensors, the implementation of nucleic acid-functionalized Pt NPs for tailoring amplified electrochemical DNA sensors and aptasensors, and the use of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) for optical and photo-electrochemical biosensing [2].Specifically, a new chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer process, stimulated by the hemin/G-quadruplex DNAzyme, was applied for the multiplexed analysis of DNAs and aptamer-substrate complexes.
