Dynamic Ghanges of Photosynthesis in Cucumber Seedlings Under Nitrate Stress

  In this paper,the dynamic changes of photosynthesis gas exchange,photosynthetic pigments content,actual PSⅡ efficiency((p)PSⅡ),coefficient for the photochemical quenching of Chl a fluorescence(qP),coefficient for the nonphotochemical quenching of Chl a fluorescence(qN),and Hill reaction activity,were studied by hydroponic culture to evaluate the photosynthtic capacity of cucumber(Cucummis sativus L.,variety Xintaimici) seedlings under 140 mmol(.)L-1 nitrate stress.The results showed that CO2 assimilation rate and Hill reaction activity of cucumber seedlings under nitrate stress obviously decreased with increasing of treatment time.Photosynthetic pigments content increased during two days after treatment,and decreased to the content level of CK after two days of tratetment; there were little significant differences in Chl a/b,Car/Chl,ΦPSⅡ and qP between seedlings under nitrate stress and CK during preperiod of treatment.
