  Impact of climate change on water resources in headwater catchment of the Tarim River Basin (TRB), the largest inland river basin in China, was assessed by using the Variable Infiltration Capacity (VIC) macro-scale hydrological model.Performance of 25 General Circulation Models (GCMs) over the basin was evaluated.The statistical downscaling models were used to construct local climate change scenarios for impact assessment, which was based on GCMs outputs.Projected meteorological variables for these scenarios were inputted into the VIC model to simulate changes of hydrological regime.
