　　Directional statistics deals with analysis of data which include angular observations.Angula data such as wind direction and the orientation of migrating birds can be modeled by circular distributions or distributions on the circle (Mardia and Jupp,1999; Jammalamadak and SenGupta,2001).Linear-circular data such as ozone concentration and wind direction may be modeled by a bivariate distribution on the cylinder or a regression after sine and cosine transformation of wind data (Fisher,1993,Chapter 6).
