The singular boundary method(SBM)is a recent meshless boundary collocation method which has been successfully applied to the numerical simulation of the potential, elasticity,Helmholtz, and Stokes problems.Due to its full interpolation matrix, the SBM solution encounters the high computational complexity and storage requirement that limit its application to large-scale engineering problems. To overcome this drawback, this paper uses the diagonal form fast multipole method(FMM)to accelerate the SBM solution. In the present FMM-SBM formulations,a diagonal form technique is proposed to fast solution of three-dimensional acoustic radiation and scattering.Numerical results illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present scheme.
