Myocardial functional disturbance after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was associated with clinical outcomes. However, precise assessment of such myocardial decay remained challenging.Cardiovascular modalities using different imaging modalities has yielded various results though complementary in most situations.Dyssynchronous myocardial contraction pattern as well as reduced contractility, two most commonly encountered pathophysiologic presentations after AMI, have been assessed through different imaging methods and may reflect the extent of true myocardial damage.
