The South Qilian block is located in the northeast part of the central continent orogenic system,which belongs to the continental tectonic knot in WN China.The block was cut off by Altyn fault in the northwest part,adjacent to the North Qaidam and Alxa in the Southern and northern part respectively,and nearby the West Qinling in the eastern.The block is the key part of the SN trending tectonic belt of central continent orogenic system,which is also the transition and conversion belt of the formation and uplift in the Tibetan plateau since Mesozoic and Cenozoic.
