The rapid in-situ preparation of a molecularly imprinted polymer monolith column under microwave irradiation and its application for on-line molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction (MISPE) coupled with HPLC-UV for the determination of thiabendazole in milk are described.Conditions for the molecularly imprinted polymer monolith preparation such as the molar ratio of the monomer and template, the nature of the porogenic solvent and the polymerization time were optimized, and parameters affecting the on-line MISPE including the loading rate, the washing solvent and the sample pH for the MISPE were investigated.Under the optimum synthesis and on-line MISPE conditions, the linear dynamic range for the detection of thiabendazole in milk were 15-1000 ng/mL with the correlation coefficient of 0.9994.
