TiC particle and TiBwhisker reinforced Ti-6Al-4V composites was in situ synthesized by a method of Vacuum Arc Remelting.The infuence of the indirect extrusion process on the microstructure and mechanical properties of(TiB+TiC)/Ti-6Al-4V Composite was studied by experiments.The results show that the indirect extrusion process makes the TiC particle and TiB whisker more homogenous in distribution and more uniform in size.The reinforcements are orientated along extrusion direction orderly and the ratio of TiB whisker is reduced sharply after the indirect extrusion.Meanwhile,the matrix microstructure is refned too.Thus,the strength and plasticity of the composite are improved obviously.
