Pig myeloid antimicrobial peptide PMAP-36 had high in vitro activity against various bacteria.The pro-peptide is expressed in leukocytes and it is likely that the mature peptide is released as a dimer bound by an intermolecular disulfide bridge stabilized through C-terminal cysteine.
