There are about 150 fossil taxa of ginkgoalean plants instituted based on the Chinese specimens and among them four illegitimate and/or not validly published names have recently been renamed (Wu et al.,2007).In compiling the Chinese ginkgoalean fossil record,more illegitimate and/or not validly published names of ginkgoalean fossil taxa were found.
