The aetin cytoskeleton is an appropriate target for general metastasis treatment because actin assembly, in particular, cortical actin assembly, is necessary for all the tumor associated movements, including migration, invasion, adhesion, and spreading.Assembly of cortical actin that lay underneath the plasma membrane is the fundamental event that generates a primary mechanical force to push forward membrane protrusions and direct cell movements.Recent advance has revealed a signal cascade responsible for actin assembly, which includes a group of intracellular proteins.
