OBJECTIVE.Coronary heart disease (CHD) has been the leading cause of death around the world for the past decades.Aspirin (ASA) has established efficacy for preventing cardiovascular events and is prescribed almost universally to patients with coronary artery diseases.The current study aimed to investigate that ASA could stimulate angiogenesis and restore endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) function via down-regulating thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) in myocardial infarction (MI) rat.
