Trypsin is currently the most widely adopted protease for protein digestion in shotgun proteomic studies.Though effectively used both in the digestion of simple and complex samples,there are still some limitations in the traditional in solution tryptic digestion approach,such as autodigestion,long incubation time and non-reusability of the enzyme.
