Host pattern recognition receptor-mediated perception of microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMP) is a prerequisite for the initiation of antimicrobial defenses in all multicellular organisms including plants. Here, we report on the rapid identification of two novel pattern recognition receptors by exploiting the natural variation of PRRs within Arabidopsis ecotypes.A combination of GWAS and Radseq genotyping was employed to identify novel pattem recognition receptors,RLP23 and RLP32, respectively, that contribute to immunity to microbial infection by sensing proteinaceous pattems from various microbes.
