文献上提到赌场职员常有机会成为病态赌徒及被转介到戒赌的辅导,本研究旨在探索电子游戏机中心的职员对有责任赌博,游戏机顾客的文化差异及他们的对顾客的服务,本研究从12个游戏中心进行了27次面谈.所得的数据显示,游戏机中心职员觉得自己的角色是给顾客一个安全的地方去与人社交,大部份被访问的员工认为赌客行为均反影他们的个人取向,多于他们既定的文化取向.性别及年龄均对他们的赌博行为有影响.再者,亚州(中国及越
