The use of gold nanoelectrode arrays for heavy metal tracing was investigated using square wave anodic stripping voltammetry. The nanoelectrode arrays were fabricated using polycarbonate nanoporous membranes as templates, with a sputtered-thin gold layer coated on one side.In the nanoelectrode array, nanowells with large inter spacing were arranged in array, which give rise to a greater current density and smaller background current than the bulk gold electrode. The results showed that the gold nanoelectrode arrays had high signal to heavy metal such as lead and cadmium.
