The effect of current collector properties on electrode stress in Li-ion battery is studied.The current collectors which have smaller elastic modulus have little influence on stress in itself and could reduce the stresses of active layer gradually.Increasing the thickness of current collector would reduce the stress dramatically in itself while promote the stress in active layer gradually.The thickness of current collector is identified to be more important influence parameter on the stress compared with Youngs modulus.The curvature of bilayer electrode increases linearly with charge time for all current collector materials.The softer and thicker of current collector lead to larger curvature.The thickness of current collector should be in an appropriate range when diffusion induced stress and curvature induced bending stress are considered.The current collector should be as thin and soft as possible when its premise strength is satisfied.
