  Contamination of water bodies by heavy metals is of growing concern due to its adverse health effects.Hence,monitoring pollutant concentrations in aqueous phases is a fundamental requirement for securing water resources.Here,we present the first report of applicability of Ion Concentration Polarization(ICP)for the pre-concentration of tracer levels of heavy metal ions with the aid of Cu2+ions on an inexpensive paper-based microfluidic platform.
