  This paper is to present a laboratory study on the leaching characteristics of heavy metals including Cu, Zn, Ni, As, Pb in pyrolyzed municipal sewage sludge and application of solid residues in the glass-ceramic.For this purpose, the municipal sewage sludge was pyrolyzed at 600℃ and the change of the total content and leaching concentration of heavy metals in the sludge and solid residues were investigated.The effect of leaching time, liquid-solid ratio and pH on the leaching concentration of heavy metals in the solid residues were studied.Pyrolyzed solid residues were used to prepare glass-ceramic and the related performances of glass-ceramic were tested.The results showed that the content of Cu, Zn, Ni, As, Pb in solid residues significantly increases, but the leaching concentration reduces respectively by 99.70%, 100%, 99.46%, 83.93% and 39.13%.Leaching time, liquid-solid ratio and pH have a certain impact on the leaching concentration of heavy metals in the solid residues.With the increase of leaching time and liquid-solid ratio, the leaching concentration of heavy metals generally increases.But with the increase of pH, the leaching concentration of heavy metals decreases.Pyrolyzed solid residues are used to prepare glass-ceramic and the compressive strength is 170MPa, flexural strength is 38MPa, micro hardness is 5GPa, density is 2.7g/cm, all the performances meet the requirements.
