地球科学正面临着包括资源与环境在内的全球问题的困扰,每个国家都有义务来培养更多掌握地球科学规律的地球科学家来服务于人类社会。本文根据美国联邦地球科学教育与人力资源发展趋势研究委员会联合其他机构发布的2013年度报告,阐述美国联邦各机构为国家培养或储备新一代的地质科学家而采取的各种长期或短期的教育培训项目,其教育培训体系的实施经验为其他国家和地区培养新一代地球科学家提供了有力的借鉴。
Earth science is plagued by global problems, including resources and the environment. Every country has an obligation to train more earth scientists who master the laws of Earth science to serve human society. Based on the 2013 annual report released by the Federal Commission of Earth Sciences in Education and Human Resources Trends Research Institute in conjunction with other agencies, this article describes various long-term or short-term education and training programs conducted by various federal agencies in the United States for the purpose of cultivating or reserving a new generation of geological scientists in China The implementation experience of its education and training system has provided a powerful reference for other countries and regions in training a new generation of earth scientists.
