"Golden rice" scandal is not an isolated event.It had deep inner root of occurrence.As the consensus,protecting the Participants in the clinical research is the joint responsibility of research related parties.Researchers, IRB, research institutions should bear their responsibilities respectively.The absence of any aspect will lead to the events even more serious than "golden rice".Based on two decades of research ethics practice and continuously leaming from the international guidelines of biological research ethics, the Science and Technology Division of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Ethics Review Committee of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society (WFCMS)jointly put Assessment Standard for Ethics Review of TCM Research with Human Participants into effect.According to this standard, the WFCMS launched the Chinese Medicine Assessment for Human Research Protection System (CMAHRPS).In China, CMAHRPS acted as a third party to evaluate the human subject protection system of the organization.According to the state laws and regulations, international ethical guidelines, CMAHRPS first introduced the evaluation of human subjects protection system in traditional medicine research in China.Since November 2012, CMAHRPS has assessed nearly 32 hospitals of Chinese medicine or integrative medicine, achieved fruitful outcome, provided valuable experience for establishing Ethics Review system all over the country.It might bridge the Chinese medicine research to the international settings.
