The theory and engineering background of the new modal parameter estimation method – PolyMax is introduced here.And the effect of the PolyMax method is verified by estimating the modal parameters of a tire and a bodywork which is fully equipped.It is proved that the method has specific advantages in “difficult” estimation cases such as highly damped systems with large modal overlap and cases in which data are highly contaminated by noise.It implies a potential for estimating more accurately and easily.
