Discovering new genes for powdery mildew resistance is a constant task for wheat breeders because of the co-evolution of host resistance genes and pathogen avirulent genes.Tetraploid wheat Khapli was known to carry two powdery mildew resistance genes, but only one of them, i.e.Pm4a, has been identified and transferred into common wheat.
