  Poplar has become one of the major fast-growing trees in China.But it is difficult to use because of its small diameter and poor mechanical properties.Natural wood has fine porous structure and other characteristics.At the same time it has a low density,high elasticity,excellent mechanical properties and other characteristics.Especially for its anisotropy,the mechanical performance along the longitudinal direction is the best.Inspired by this phenomenon,based on bionics,this paper studied and analyzed the feasibility of using poplar LVL for manufacturing solid wood doors.Using modified phenolic resin,veneers were impregnated by vacuum and high pressure and dried at low temperature.
