A new vanadium borate, Sr3V2B10O23 has been synthesized by standard solid-state reaction method and its structure determined by single-crystal X-ray methods.It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P-1 with lattice constants a =6.65900(10) (A), b =11.5945(2) (A), c =13.0463(3) (A), α =114.4230(10)°, β =103.3350(10)°, γ =90.4440(10)°, Z =2.Functional groups in the sample were identified by IR spectrum.UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrum and thermal analysis were also performed.
