  Flippase plays important roles in the asymmetric distribution of phospholipids by actively transporting aminophospholipids such as PS from the outer to inner leaflets of the plasma membrane.Phospholipid transport is mediated by P4 ATPase which requires CDC50A (cell division cycle protein 50A) for their localization and activity.Recent studies have documented that deficiency of CDC50A led to impaired flippase activity as well as altered cellular function in several cell types.However,the role of CDC50A in erythropoiesis has not been studied.
