　　Jaridonin is a new ent-kaurene diterpenoid isolated from Isodon rubescens,resulting in antiproliferative and proapoptotic effects in several human cancer cell lines.The chemical structure of Jaridonin was verified by IR,NMR,MS data and X-ray spectra.In EC9706 Human esophageal cancer cells,exposure to Jaridonin induced a time-and concentration-dependent increase of cells in G2/M phase of cell cycle and apoptosis,but the sequence of events leading to cell death is poorly understood.
