  A new electrochemiluminescent (ECL) detection system in capillary electrophoresis (CE) with a WMNT/Nafion/Ru(bpy) 32+-modified electrically heated carbon paste electrode (CPE) has been developed in this paper.The Ru(bpy)23+ was immobilized in WMNT/Nafion composite film on the CPE, which could be heated by direct electrical heating and the temperature of the electrode could controlled easily.This new composite heated-electrode has coupled the advantages of CNT/Nafion composite with the advantages of heated electrode, and was used for improved ECL intensity of Ru(bpy)23+ /TPA and Ru(bpy)23+ /proline system following their CE separations.
