We have recently been investigating the mechanochemical applications in preparation of or functionalmodification on solid-state materials including metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),metal-organic cages(MOCs),covalent-organic frameworks(COFs) and graphene.When adding a certain amount of water soluble saltsin grinding of organic ligands and metal salts/oxides to give large pore mesoporous MOFs such as HKUST-1(Figure 1),[Cu(INA)2] and ZIF-8.1 Furthermore,we used a planetary ball mill to exfoliate some two-dimensionalMOFs efficiently to give stable MOFs nanosheets2 in presence of some pyridine derivatives.And ball milling of atrialdehyde and diamine gave water-soluble COFs nanosheets.3
