Objective: To observe the early stage clinical outcomes of a new type artificial cervical disc replacement. Methods: Clinical data of 5 patients underwent cervical disc replacement using Pretic-Ⅰ artificial disc were analyzed. The scale scores for VAS, JOA and NDI were obtained, and the range of motion for total cervical spine, index level and the upper/lower adjacent levels were measured pre-and post-operatively, 3 and 6 months follow-up after surgery. Results: No severe complications occurred, and the scale scores were improved significantly after surgery. The range of motion for index level was increased from 6.14 pre-operatively to 9.54 at final follow-up, and the range of motion for total cervical spine and adjacent levels were preserved. Conclusion: The early stage outcomes of cervical disc replacement using Pretic-Ⅰ were satisfied, and further observation is still needed.
