　　The underlying mechanism of painful diabetic neuropathy(PDN)is not well understood.Since descending noradrenergic pathway plays a crucial role in nociceptive modulation,we investigate whether the change of descending noradrenergic pathway mediates the development of PDN in db/db mice,an animal model of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
