小花棘豆是豆科棘豆属植物,在内蒙古主要分布于西部地区,含吲哚里西啶生物碱—苦马豆素(Swainsonine,SW),SW 抑制动物细胞内甘露糖苷酶活性,引起低聚糖代谢和糖蛋白合成障碍,导致细胞和组织器官功能紊乱,家畜过量采食含SW 的植物中毒,甚至会死亡。
