The work with nearly 1.000 athletes in the past 10 years was based on the Reiss Profile.The Reiss profile is a standardized psychological test, developed by Professor Steven Reiss, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio in the late 90s.The results show the archaic traits of human personality.It seems that competition in sports brings out the personality on its basic goals motifs and values.The influence of cognition and mind for motivation and social behavior is obviously stronger and more direct in situations that have a real emotional impact.Competition in sports is an important emotional situation for every participant, athletes and coaches.The analysis of the basic personality of 762 professional soccer players and nearly 300 professional athletes in individual sports was done in the last ten years.Based on these analysiss we made predictions on the behavior in competition and training.The evaluation of the predictions where done on the results in competition (including the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing) and in interviews with the coaches.It is interesting to see, that the participants (athletes and coaches) come from a lot of different cultures having similar results.In addition to that the results show a significance difference in the personality of athletes in team sports and individual sports.The decision to join and stay team sports or individual sports is not an accident.We studied the stability of motivation and social behavior and found that they can be stable over lifetime.We take all the results and match them with the results in management.The main difference is that we do not have such a stringent determination between something like training and competition.A real part of my work is focused on the question how strong all those things are connected to neurobiological findings to open the black box of nervous systems a little bit from the other side.
