Objective To exploring the effects and mechanisms of TLSJ Formula on bone cancer pain in rat model.Methods The Walker 256 cells(1 × 107 cells/ml)were injected into the abdominal cavities of the rats(70-90 g).After seven days,the cells collected from ascitic fluid were injected into the rats bone cavity in the right pelvic limb.Investigate the mechanisms of TLSJ Formulas action on cancer pain by assessing both mechanical and thermal sensitivity,the time course of bone mineral density(BMD),and the conditioned place preference(CPP)effect.Results TLSJ treatment significantly restored bone cancer-induced decreasing of PWL and mechanical threshold compared to vehicle group.It also significantly repaired cancer-induced decreasing of BMD levels and decreased the destruction such as bone marrow and bone loss.Furthermore,it showed that TLSJ Formula produced CPP effects to the bone cancer pain rats.Conclusion These results suggests that TLSJ Formula not only can inhibit cancer induced bone destruction and hyperalgesia but also produced CPP effects.It suggests that this formula may be useful in managing cancer pain and that it may act by decreased the destruction such as bone marrow and bone loss.
