Background:To study the prevalence of trace element deficiency in elderly living in long-term care facilities in Taiwan.Methods:A total of 440 subjects aged 65 years and over (187 men and 253 women,mean age=76.9±6.7 and 79.6±7.1 years) were recruited in seven different long-term care facilities in 2002-2003 from a metropolitan city in Mid-Taiwan.
